Autumn at the cabin. Elk are bugling and aspens are beginning to turn golden.
Our view to the East

Scenic Drive to Cabin in the new Chevy truck! Up Poudre Canyon, to the Laramie River Rd, East on Hwy 130, South on Brubaker Lane. A lovely 3.5 hr ride in amazingly green country.
9pm. Scott, Yvonne and Gabe visit the cabin overnight. They arrived late Friday, and had Mojitos and key lime pie before bed. Saturday Gabe caught 2 Brookies and 3 nice Rainbows at the kids pond, we target shot , ate lunch then fished Yeagers pond in the rain before they left.
Sunday Workday. Cut grass and trimmed weeds at both cabins. Saw Hummingbirds and a Yellow Bellied Sap Sucker. Had drinks and tour of David and Janet Lockman's fishing ponds, then, sunset with a doe antelope 50 yds from our front porch and an appearance from our porch bunny!
Three visits to the cabin in the last month for work projects and relaxation produces great sunset, wildflower and wild game pics!
Lots of game viewing opportunities, antelope, elk (at the salt block, at Chminey Rock Ranch and Sand Creek Pass), Moose, Mule Deer, and marmots.
Beautiful birds - Western Tanager, American Goldfinch Golden Eagles, an Osprey and lots of Pine Siskins, Humming Birds and purple finches.
Wildflowers in profusion due to the abundant rainfall, but only a few pictured here.
One enchanted evening....
Evening game drive to the Laramie Valley produced antelope, elk, deer and gorgeous views of the Rawah Mountains
52" of wet snow in late April damaged both Chimneys, so now we have new snow wedges to divert future dumps!
Some fine dinners including Shake Shack burgers with Baked Pomme Frites and Bacon-Tomato grilled cheese sandwiches
Lovely Fall Photo........
The "last best place" on the Colorado Front Range!
Just installed basement shelving and a new weather station at the cabin. Pretty neat - I won't have to go outside with my handheld anemometer to get temps and wind speeds!
A beautiful fall week quickly turns to winter
Truly lovely fall weather...
